Josh Galster Biography:

I started my racing career with the MRA in Colorado in 2004. I was aboard a stock 2001 SV650 with exhaust and jetting, and half the season I had a turkey basting pan safety wired to the bottom of the bike as my belly pan. I captured one 1st place, multiple 2nds, a couple 3rds to finish off the year 3rd overall in the Supertwins GTU class, and 5th overall in Lightweight GP, while missing the first two race weekends due to not having a race license yet. I was also awarded Rookie of the Year, and within my first two races was moved into the expert ranks.

In 2005 I moved to California to work at San Diego House of Motorcycles and race with WERA West and continue my success. I raced 3 of the 7 rounds that year and out of the 6 races, I placed 1st in 5 of them, with a 2nd at one of the races. Despite my lack of races, I still managed to come away with the Championship plates in the Lightweight Twins Superstock, and Superbike.

2006 I again raced the WERA West, but raced the full series. This year I was able to purchase a 2003 ZX-6RR, while still racing my ancient 2001 SV650. Bouncing back and forth from bike to bike was difficult especially since I had never ridden a 600 before, so the differences between the V-twin and the Inline four were drastic. I attended a couple of schools with California Superbike School, and after being a student a couple of times, Cobie offered me a position as a coach. I was a part time coach that year fitting in my races between schools. With many good battles on the track throughout the year, I continued my rein as Champion in the Lightweight Twins Superstock, and Superbike class. The first year racing a 600 I relied on my consistency, and one 1st place to clinch the Championship in both 600 classes that I raced in, C Superstock, and C Superbike.

At the beginning of 2007 I sold my SV650 and managed to buy a new 2007 ZX-6R. The fields were full, and the competition fierce with many off the fast up-and-coming Novices joining the Expert class, along with several of the AMA privateer riders joining along in the fun at many of the races. I bit the bullet and spent the money on full Ohlins suspension front and rear to have some equipment to compare with the top teams. With suspension and an exhaust, not mapped, I begin my uphill journey into a aggressive battle. Every race I found myself one to two and half seconds off the leaders pace, but was consistently in the fight for top 5. At the end of the year I saw myself at the top of the ladder in C Superstock, and B (750) Superstock, and a 3rd in C Superbike. I was able to accomplish that while being a full time coach with the Superbike School teaching 90 schools throughout the States and Australia. Getting the opportunity to ride at some world renowned tracks including Eastern Creek, and Phillip Island in Australia.

In 2008 I am teaming up with Misti Hurst, fellow Superbike School coach, and fastest girl in North America, to compete in the full AMA Superbike Series, competing in the Supersport class riding a ’07 ZX-6R. We are excited about racing with the most elite riders at 11 rounds in 8 states across the US.
